Pancakes and Patience

I cooked pancakes this morning. I’m no master chef, but I figured cooking is simply just a matter of following instructions. I went out and gathered all the ingredients I’ll need. After a few minutes I’m ready to cook the best-tasting pancake ever, or so I thought.

I cracked two eggs and stirred it in a bowl. The instruction says to use only one, but I figured it would add more flavor to it and I’d be the only one to eat anyway. The best part was no one’s gonna stop me ever if I don’t follow these instructions religiously. Freedom!

Wedding Song: All of Me

I know Des would agree with me in that I don't really like to adhere to popular choices that's why we try to personally handpick every detail for our wedding, even seemingly less important matters such as wedding songs. I guess I just like the idea that everything is personal. It helps create an impression that this event is unique and special - and indeed it is!

John Legend's All of Me is like the Kevin Durant of love songs and is now becoming the most popular choice to win MVP. While Christina Perri's A Thousand Years is still the reigning champ of weddings (I swear this song is played in every wedding I attended for the last two years!), With All of Me becoming a favorite my guess is it won't be long until it takes over.

I know I said I don't often adhere to popular choices, but this time I'll make the exception. If only to hear these lines. Just perfect.

What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down
What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

[Pre-Chorus:]
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh

[Verse 2:]
How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you're crying you're beautiful too
The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood
You're my downfall, you're my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you

[Pre-Chorus:]
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh

[Bridge:]
Give me all of you
Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it's hard

[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you

I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh

Something to Look Forward To

I'm gonna miss the laughs. I'm gonna miss the walks. I'm gonna miss the late nights where we talk about our future and plan a family together. I'm gonna miss how you make me feel, how we cuddle and hold each other. I'm gonna miss the petty fights. I'm gonna miss your kiss. I'm gonna miss your touch and the way you run your hands through me.

But I'm never gonna miss you.

Why? Because I ain't going nowhere. No matter where you go I'll be there. I'll be there at the airport. I'll be there when you board the plane and I'll be there once you land. I'll be there when you walk the ground trying to find your way to your new place. I'll be there at the first day of your work and everyday thereafter. I'll be with you during meal time and even after office hours. I'll be there as you try to learn your way in the office. I'll be there after you go home to help ease your fatigue. I'll be there at your nights out and when your trying to unwind. I'll be there as you discover a new city, a new culture, a new routine.

Distance is nothing. My love is far greater and longer reaching than the distance it takes to keep us apart. Never be afraid, for I will always be here for you.

Wedding Song: Treasure by Bruno Mars

Des was actually the one who suggested this. Picture our wedding entourage dancing to this song as they are introduced during the reception. Looks like a cool idea!

Things You Should Know About Me Before We Get Married

You've known me for more than three years now and you've been the closest person to me outside of my own family. If there's anyone that could best describe me and get along with me I know that would be you.

But I have my mood swings. I have a tendency to change my opinion and change my behavior in a snap. You probably know these things by now but it bears repeating just in case your love for me has totally blinded you of all the character flaws I have. These are the things you should know and should really reflect on before you say I do.

1. I'm really a wannabe writer. I had my first blog in 2008. We didn't even have internet that time. Every weekend I lock myself in my room doodling with a pen and constructing sentences in my head. Our trash can would largely include torn pages from my notebooks. Yes, notebooks. I think I used to have three back then. I used to write poetry. I used to write how I feel. I used to make up stories and pretend I'm a famous writer of movies. Once I finished writing something I'd type in our PC, save it in my usb, go to an internet shop and upload it in my blog. Sometimes I just upload it in friendster.

Wedding Song: Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute

There was once a time  in our relationship when we really got into this song. I first heard kiss me slowly sometime in 2012 back when our relationship looked more like a charade. We fought over the small stuff, mostly stemming from my lack of consideration to tell her what seemed to me are little things, but to her was a great big of a deal. Why am I not texting? What am I doing right now? Why am I not checking up on her? I constantly heard these questions and I felt like I was Chuck getting interrogated by the CIA and NSA. I was either sleeping, watching TV or glued at my PC so I didn't really know what the big fuss was.

Wedding Song: Sundo by Imago

Back in college, I had a friend who persistently courted our classmate for more than three years just to be her girlfriend. I really admire him for being patient and he really proved his worth to gain the trust of the girl's family. Not long after, I remember having a videoke session with them and the girl sang Imago's Sundo. That was when they announced they were officially a couple. I have since associated the song to them.
